Fed baby old formula?!

Gave him a ready to feed Kendamil at 5am; he drank half of it. 4 hours later at 9am I just fed him the remaining 150ml!!!!!! I had made a brand new bottle but got confused as they were both on the bed and accidentally fed him the old bottle. I’m so worried; what shall I do???! Will he be ok? You’re supposed to discard old bottles after 1 hour, so 4 hours is bad! It was the old bottle itself, so old teat too.

Just keep an eye on him, but he'll be fine. It's not that old formula is definitely bad for babies, it's that it has the potential for bacterial growth that could give them an upset tummy. So it's unlikely he'll be unwell

@Charley thanks, I’m going to monitor him all day now worried! What a stupid mistake! 🥲

Just keep an eye on him. If anything he may have a bit of a sore tummy and loose nappies for a couple of days but other than that he’ll be fine. I’ve done it in the past and my baby was fine as it was a one off just like I said she had a sore tummy and loose nappies x

He’ll be fine. I’m sure every formula fed mum has done it atleast once 😌. Can just lead to a bit of an upset stomach. Nothing major

@Julia thank you, so worried so your reply helps! x

@Amelia thanks so much. I’m keeping an eye on him but major mum guilt x

Update, he’s fine! 🩵

Oh good. Glad to hear he’s okay☺️x

@Julia thank you! X
