Snakes

So my partner has just bought a corn snake, sounds silly but I’m wanting to hold him. However scared he may bite, if he does would this post a risk to my pregnancy does anybody know?? The Internet is my best friend and doesn’t say so but then one article says it will haha! Help!! Thanks xx

Corn snakes are usually super friendly so they are very unlikely to bite you. As long as you’re not handling their poo with your bare hands and then putting your hands in your mouth, you’re pretty safe.

@Amy he’s due to be fed tomorrow but have been told to leave him to settle until next week, so was wondering if he may be abit snappy x

Corn snakes are pretty docile, leave them a week after eating and they should be okay to handle. Wash your hands thoroughly after handling though because their skin can have salmonella on it. I have a corn snake and he’s a bit dopey at the best of times. They’d rather squeeze you than bite you but if he’s hungry, I wouldn’t chance it. Just hold off a week and you’ll be fine.
