When do you think you will give birth?

I Have been thinking a lot on when I'll give birth, getting ready in my mind for it to happen before, the Christmas week will be so stressful,I'll be 38w I call it the red zone 😬 ,my first was born 10days early. I know there is no way to know but just wonder what you all think/feel

My first baby came 10 days before her elective section date so I’ve been booked in for baby 2s at 38 weeks too. 28th December, so they better not come early 😂 baby needs to stay in until grandma flies in to look after the toddler

I'm due 4th Jan and assuming after, given only 5% of babies arrive on their due date and the majority of first babies are late. I'm also kinda hoping so because my husband's birthday and our wedding anniversary are the same week as Christmas. Would be nice to have her birthday a little later, but obviously not something I can control! We're not traveling anywhere for Christmas... Or really for most of December, just in case as I'll be 38+4 on Christmas day. Wish there was a way to find out when!! 🤣

I’m thinking mine will be about a week late. I hope it’s a January baby but it could easily be a February one. I’m weirdly obsessed with months and dates 🙃

I'm due on the 6th Jan, I kind of want a Christmas baby but my partner wants a 2025 baby 😅 our birthdays and anniversary falls on the 8th every 3 months though so 8th Jan would be lovely too ❤️

@Becky Jackson I'm the opposite, I don't want a Christmas baby, I feel her/his birthday will be "stolen" every year😅

@Marie that's exactly what my partner says I do understand it. Someone else also said it'll be nice for their first Christmas to be closer to them turning 1 and active

@Becky Jackson well we have no say on matter anyway😅 as long we have an uncomplicated birth with healthy babies. If it's on Christmas day we'll find a way for them to enjoy their day I'm sure 😊

My first was born on her due date (waters broke but didn't go into labour so was induced and had her via emergency c section due to complications 2 days after the waters breaking) so it's hard to tell as they're watching me closely but saying I can try for a VBAC, but after everything went so wrong last time I wouldn't be surprised if they end up encouraging an elective in which case they said they'd aim for 39 weeks but I don't like this idea as I'll be 39 weeks new years day and I was hoping to get as far as possible from Christmas and NYE as I also have the dread of her birthday being "stolen" or people not wanting to do stuff for her birthday as she gets older due being tired or skint or tired from Christmas/New Year as this happens to mt friends husband every year as a new years day baby 😅 What will be will be, but I'm hoping to go as late as possible!, due date is 8th Jan 🤞🏻

My first I was induced on his due date. Second came after a sweep at 38+6 and quick! I’m expecting this one to come early/quicker

I was induced 6 weeks early with my first. So with that I’ve got between 6 to 12 weeks left which is so terrifying. I’m not prepared at all. I have to clean everything 🤯 with such a large time frame, I actually try to forget I’m pregnant (hard to do with a massive bump and a lots of uncomfortableness and aching) because it stresses me out too much. And the fact my partner only gets 2 weeks of paternity leave 🥲 and with my first I was in hospital for 9 days after she was born so if it’s like that again I won’t have long with my partner helping before he’s back to work and I’m by myself with a new born and a 2 year old 😭 sorry went on a bit of a rant haha

@Sophie oh I understand, not easy to be ready for something you don't know when it will happened. Try cleaning one room at the time. Do you have any family member that could help you when the baby is born? Do you send your 2yo to daycare? My husband works in a small company, his manager also expect a baby around December, they can't both take paternity leave at the same time so not sure when he could take his leave. So we have family coming for Christmas, we are hosting, so they can help in case I give birth earlier. They will stay until early Jan for my son birthday.

@Marie I don’t really have anyone else. My mums just been diagnosed with cancer and is going through treatment so she will be too weak to help. My 2 year old does start nursery in January so I guess that will help but still 😬 Oh bless I didn’t know people can’t take paternity at the same time 🤨 I’m glad you have family able to help you

@Sophie oh sorry to hear about your mum, for sure she had other thing to deal with.....yeah having your oldest at nursery will help free your hands fmto care for the baby, you got this, no choice anyway😅. Does your husband has holidays he could take as well?....for my husband leave is just because it's a small company and they are each other back up.

My son (first baby) was a day early, my daughter (second baby) was 10 days late and were pregnant with another girl due on the 10th jan. I imagine she’ll be late but the labour will be done within 12 hours

On my 4th pregnancy, baby 1 was induced at 10 days overdue, baby 2 induction booked day 10 but went into labour hours before, baby 3 6 days early as consultant led and didn’t want me to go over so induced me! Have been told I’m allowed to go 6 days over this time, due 8th, so expecting baby 14th 😂😂
