Potty training!

What’s the best time to start potty training. My third child is now 18 months old. I don’t think he’s ready just yet but with my other 2, my oldest boy nursery helped massively, and my daughter was straight on the toilet and was so easy she took to it quickly and stopped nappy’s at 2 half. We never used potty’s for the other 2 as they had steps for the toilet was more interesting for them… do I wait till my 3rd child is 2 or do I try now 😫

I saw stats that showed it usually takes much longer before 2.5 so I’m waiting a little longer! Will probably try next spring/summer

2.5 years old is the average time apparently. Youngest has been watching her big sis so she's showing signs already so we introduced the potty yesterday. First wasn't showing signs until she just turned 2 x

I’ve been wondering the same thing. With the recent studies that have come out about children going into primary school who are still not potty trained has made me think I should do it as soon as possible! But my son still needs time, hoping to start trying when he’s 2 x

50 years ago, before the age of pampers, 90% of kids in the west were potty trained by 18m, it's the diaper industry that started talking about signs of readiness, I bet your grandma never heard of that 🙃 in many Asian countries even now kid get potty trained around a year old. But thanks to today's diapers, the choice is yours, if you wanna introduce potty, do it. My LO has been using toilet steps for 2m now (with some help) and uses toilet seat reducer, she's not the biggest fan of potty

I’m in the same boat, I want to start but my little guy just isn’t ready yet we have potty but he’s not showing any signs I never know when he goes 1 or 2 he stealths it! So debating waiting until spring, when it’s warm and spend 3-4 days at home nappyless and try get it done that way!🫤🤷🏻‍♀️ Feel like a panda mom though for that idea too so I don’t think we can win🤣
