Did you know that reaching 10cm dilated doesn’t always mean that it’s time to push?

You may experience something called the “Rest and Be Thankful” phase....which is exactly what it says on the tin! This is where your body allows time for you and your baby to take a little break. Instead of rushing to push, it's a moment to pause, breathe, and allow your body to get ready for the final stage of birth. Did you experience is? If so, share in the comments below. I think I did, cause they said I was fully dilated and ready to push but I didn't have the urge to push at all. But they told me to push anyway and it wasn't until 10-15 minutes later that I felt the urge to push and my baby was born about another 20 minutes later.

I experienced this with my first baby! About 15-16 hours of labor before I hit 10cm and then I had I think around 20 minutes of way lighter contractions and no urge to push at all. I wasn't warned that could happen so was a little worried at first, but my nurse was super sweet about it and told me to just relax and let her know whenever I started to feel the urge to push. I had acupuncture done during that time too which was one of the most relaxing things I've ever experienced, as crazy as that sounds. The actual pushing was miserable, so I'm really glad I got that break before. Then my second baby practically flew out the second I hit 10cm 😂
