Water Table in cold months

So we got my son a water table around April when it first started getting warm and set it up outside on the back porch. Now that it’s finally getting cold what are some other ideas for it. We don’t have a lot of storage space. I want to bring it inside but filling it up with water inside would be a nightmare because he mostly pours the water on the ground when he’s outside. Sand is also out my son almost always gets sand in his hair. Does anyone have any ideas?

They have covers for the water table, so you can leave it outside & it won’t be subjected to the weather & other outside elements. I was about to put ours away, but AZ got another heat wave

@gina yeah but my son would still want to play with it that’s why I’m looking up ideas for bringing it in the house

Could you turn it into like a sensory table? Have dried beans or pasta noodles in there, so he can still use the toys & the table itself?

My little guy has had a bunch of fun with corn pits at pumpkin patches lately, you could try corn 😂

Indoors we use it with pasta - the largest and most colorful fusilli types you can find (large = less mess). Any smaller things, like rice, mean a lot more cleaning time.
