Hey, I have PCOS and was given clomid and metformin (was a hospital trial for people with PCOS). I hadn't had a period for months so they gave me something to start my periods and then I started taking clomid. I conceived 1st cycle. Clomid will help you ovulate. Feel free to message me xx

@Zerina this is amazing and gives me reassurance thank you so much. Do you know how they kickstart a period, I’m 6 months without one now xx

No problem. Yeah they gave me medroxyprogesterone, which I took from 5 to 10days I think and my period came after that, then I started the other fertility meds xx

@Zerina did it take long for them to prescribe it all to you ? Xx

Errr I'd say it took long for the referral to the hospital but once the hospital got in contact with me it wasn't too long. Have you had a referral already? Xx

@Zerina not yet, just doctors appointment xx

Hopefully you're not waiting too long🤞🏽 xx

I've just started my medication to induce a period (norethisterone) I take it for 5 days then should have a period a couple days later. Then will be starting with clomid. I tried Metformin for a few months but it didn't regulate my cycle and eventually gave me horrendous diarrhea and nausea so I had to stop. I think the referral process etc times depend on your area, I went through it in Leicestershire and it took forever, and they didn't keep notes properly so when I moved to stoke they had to do it all again, but then that time it was all really quick and the doctor didn't hang around trying to get me through all the test and a referral date. If you can, ask for a doctor who's interested in women's health, specifically fertility.
