We've joined the Oct babies - pre term

Hello, My baby was born on Tuesday, 5 weeks before his due date! It's all been a whirlwind as he was born via emergency c section and has been in NICU. Just wondering whether there are any other mums who have gone through a similar experience on here? If so , it'd be great to connect x

Hi Ruth! My little one was born last weds 7 weeks early, also in nicu! How are you and your baby doing? Xx

Hello! My October baby was born exactly 5 weeks early in September. Also emergency caesarean (cat 1) and was in NICU/SCBU for 2 weeks before coming home- it’s her due date on Monday! X

My baby boy was due 1st Oct but born 7 weeks early on 15th August via emergency section too! We spent a week in NICU then two weeks in special care. Hope you’re both doing ok, it’s a scary and traumatic experience. I still can’t talk about it without crying! Xx

My October 1st baby was born on 20th August (6 weeks early). We spent 16 days on NICU. It was such a hard time, the worst thing is having to leave your baby behind, but we are home and doing amazing. X

Our baby was born 8 weeks early by emergency c section too and spent 3 weeks in the NICU before coming home last week! I hope your baby is doing well (Crazy how many have had a similar experience when it feels so terrifying and lonely) xx

@Jade ah gosh it's such a traumatic experience and you feel so torn between making sure baby and toddler happy don't you. How was your toddler when you brought baby home? Hope you are ok and fully recovered?xx

@Clare oh gosh, 7 weeks early. You all must have been through so much . Hope you are ok? It's abit scary isn't it and full of unknowns. I feel overwhelmed often but know there is light at the end of the tunnel and get positive vibes again xx

@Imogen aw gosh. I second that. I've found I can't cry with the section surgery so there isn't much relief to get the tears out . I think I will be the same.. we are both doing well and I see the light at the end of the tunnel . How did you find the after care for your c section? Are you and baby settling into home life now? Bet you were so happy to be home xx

@Becky 3 weeks in NICU oh wow you are amazing . So pleased you are now home. 8 weeks early. Did you expect a pre term or was it out of the blue? Yes isn't it just. I'm thinking of going to a NICU baby group once home and can drive . How are you doing recovery wise? Xx

@Ruth those weeks felt so long but also went so fast! It was very unexpected it was at his 32 week growth scan that his Dopplers were abnormal so sent me for monitoring and I had an emergency c section that day! Oh that’s such a good idea, I never thought about that. Slowly recovering from the c section, being at home recovering feels lovely compared to travelling to the NICU every day. I hope your journey is going as well as possible, and know it’s all worth it in the end 🥰 xx
