Gender Expansive Parenting

Anyone out here practicing gender expansive parenting? I’m hoping to find some local peeps on the same wavelength. Or some non local peeps who’ve been doing this for a while and can give some seasoned advice. My little just turned 1. I’m in rural Oregon (an hour and a half outside Portland).

I’m not sure if I do since the term is new to me, but I chose a name that I hope my child will enjoy regardless of their gender identity. My wife and I have tried to let our child choose what they like without concerns for traditional gender norms.

@Lizzi sounds like gender expansive parenting. I think it looks different for everyone. We’re choosing to use they/them pronouns for our little until they let us know what we prefer and choosing not to share their sex with people because we really don’t think that’s anyone’s business. This makes for many uncomfortable convos with strangers 😣
