IVF/IUI

Just learned that it could take up to 6 months to start IUI. I was hoping 2 months! All my blood tests are clear but they come from my doctor, not the clinic. It's the blood tests that seem to take so long. To be honest, I don't care if the clinic make money through new blood tests, I just want to fastrack everything as at 42, i don't have time on my side. Any advice how to do this?

Where are you based? Is this going privately?

@Amy in the UK. Am paying privately.

I’m in the US and they started IUI immediately upon verifying our reproductive issues. Which from 1st appointment to IUI sperm insertion was 3 months. And when we tried for our second they were willing to start whenever I was ready. Maybe you need a new clinic? Although I must say to even get an appointment at that clinic was a 2 month wait.

That’s a bit bizarre. The private fertility clinic I used did bloods and they came back the same day. They also wanted to start IVF a month after I had the initial consultation. I’d look into another clinic to be honest.

@Naomi seems obvious now you're saying it, but for some reason when they said 6 months, I assumed it would be the same at other places. Will research further

@Amy thanks Amy. That's cheered me up

We went through a private clinic and as above, blood tests generally come back on the same day. We had our initial consultation in January and I wanted to have our first cycle done before we went on holiday (March time) )which we were able to do. It seems really odd you have to wait 2 months just for blood work. By July I was on our second round and pregnant. I wonder if it’s more lack of staff being able to discuss the results with you? Maybe look into another clinic.

@Amy thanks for this. I can ask more pointed questions with this.
