Hi. I'm in need. I'm trying to get my 1st baby daddy on child support. He has never meet his sone never helped me with anything clothes shoes sports bills nothing. His name is not on the birth certificate. It's been almost 13 years now. I habe a my reasons to why he can't be around his child he is abuser a drug head been to jail many of times for things. I know I need a lawyer but I'm low income I only get 600$ a month. How can I get him in child support? Who do I talk to? Is there any lawyers that will help me? I don't want him having anything to do with my son period. My son is safe n well taking care of where he is at now n that is with me and always has been. Are his rights gone?? How dose this work. Please help. Idk the rules wot south Carolina child support system.

Ok cuz I was told different once before the only thing he tries to threatened me with every 2 3 years is custody and he's never once been around his kid. My income is not that much. Do they give u the pack pay as well for all the years I have had no help n struggled?
Don’t really need a lawyer unless he wants to see the child. Child support is only for the financial side of it. He would have to take you to court first if he wants to see the kid. I was told this a few months ago as I’m in a similar situation. If he has history of being locked up it easy to have him found. Just fill out the application and it will take month before you have a court date but once you do they’ll just do a paternity test and check both of y’all’s income and go from there. If he wants to see the kid he’ll need to take you to family court first. They won’t stop the payments just bc you won’t let him see the kid. Also when paternity test is done you can request your child and him not be there at the same time too.
