Feeding and food

I EBF and feel like I’m failing with solid foods. I rarely give her solid (I do purées) . Am I the only one ? My friend said don’t worry for before one is just for fun . Also my lo has been having to sleep with me most nights since she’s been 6 months . Recently waking up almost every 1hr or 30 min to feed . Idk what’s going on there . Is she hungry or is it just comfort ?

Could be teething or growing pains. Or brain is still trying to process all the new skills

As for food, I’m with you. My pediatrician got on me a bit for it. I need a handbook or something bc she doesn’t like it and choked on pureed avocado yesterday. I don’t know how to do it!!

I’m only on purées too. I have to much anxiety when it comes to anything he can gag on. I tried puree avocado too and he thru up all over. I don’t handle the situation too well.

Every baby is different but it is important to introduce food whether they eat it or not. My first wasn’t super interested in food and loved breastfeeding so she played in her food a lot. My second baby has one tooth and will DESTROY an apple slice 😂 solid starts food app is great for ideas. Before one is just introducing them to food to limit them getting allergies and to help strengthen their mouths/tounge. It’s not about them getting calories from it.

Hey! I rarely do solids bc of the choking/ gagging terrifying me. I do purées a few times a week and otherwise EBF. I have coslept since week 1. She feeds every hour and a half / to 3 hrs overnight a lot recently due to teething- some is for comfort for sure

@Maddy same! Choked on pureed avocado and I said ok I’m done for now with solids lol. Stress removed.

I’m the same way with the feeding. Not with the wake windows tho. Could be teething as some had said or just sleep regression My son slept through the night early but then started to want to eat in the night again at about 5 ish months and been doing it since. Not always but often

@Maddy my pediatrician acted like by 9 months he would be eating 3 meals a day (speaking to her at 6mo apt and her saying start with one meal a day) that barely lasted a week. Tbh he gets stuff maybe twice a week but it’s like he won’t eat anything in a traditional manner. If I put him on like a mat (floor protector thing for under high chairs) and let him eat with his hands while he sitting he will go for it. But not at all hardly in a high chair of any sort and spoons don’t last much either he wants to feed himself
