Weaning

Hi everyone! I’ve just started weaning my little girl and we are 3 days in to the ‘how to wean your baby’ book. My little girl started off quite well picking up the spoon and playing around with it. Not really eating much/any but I know this is to be expected. However each day has got progressively worse to the point where she doesn’t want to interact with it much and is turning her head away when I go near her with the spoon. I know we are so early on in our journey and it’s so new for her but I can’t help but feel a bit worried that she won’t like food and it’s going to be such a battle. Does anyone have any positive stories of weaning not being great in the beginning but getting better? I’d love to hear them!

Hey, I dont have a positive story yet but my baby is the same, first week of weaning and for the last 2-3 days he just refuses to put anything food in his mouth. I’m hoping its just the start and will get better xx

My little girl was the same the first few times, we tried around 12 o'clock, but by the time she woke from her nap, had her bottle, waited about an hour she was then too tired to care so we moved it to later in the afternoon when she has her longest wake window and is more alert and she enjoyed it and tried it more.

I have that book and got bored of trying to fit it in with life and wasted veg, and the finger food suggestions a challenge. I’ve given my little one bits and pieces when we’re out. I made some croquettes from this Instagram - she loves them! https://www.instagram.com/yummy_little_belly?igsh=eDJ0Ym1pcXN6OW14

I also bought sachets and jars as just so much easier than prepping.
