Sometimes going somewhere can be a nice alternative to lots of physical presents. Is there an experience you would like her to have?

my daughter has her birthday just a week before christmas. we will be going away for a few days and i will gift her some books whilst we are away, then i have clothes, and a little car/truck she can sit on as presents for christmas for her to join in with everyone else opening gifts

I’m making my little one a big personalised busy board for Christmas, and then a kitchen or trike for 1st birthday as well as a day out at the zoo. When me and my siblings were 1, my mum would wrap our own toys we already had up so we got the fun of unwrapping but without going crazy on presents for a year we’d never remember being so little. At this age we all just buy them the things that are relevant to their age as the weeks go on so it’s so difficult to think of ideas when it comes to celebrations, especially when they’re so close together!xx

They really don't care at one tbh, my first more enjoyed having people round and singing happy birthday than presents. I think Christmas day she'll just be into whatever anyone else is opening so I'm planning on splitting the gifts but giving more on her birthday on the 28th to make that day more special. I've got some instruments, a busy board, baby puzzles, bubble machine, a linkimal penguin, happyland toys.
