Postpartum aches and pains

I’m nearly 5 months postpartum and I’m still so stiff and sore. My knees and back feel like I’ve aged 40 years. The mornings are worse. Anyone else dealing with this? I’m going back to the gym next week finally so I am hoping this will help!

Yes! Also almost 5 months PP. Backs of knees, hips, feet and hands for me! Are you breastfeeding?! X

@Helen No I stopped breastfeeding at 3.5 months!

Oh wow. Wondering if it is that though. My dr mentioned that if it is hormone related things may not settle until after I’d finished breastfeeding and Estrogen levels regulated. Perhaps you are still regulating? Although - definitely go to your docs and ask for a blood test. Sure there’s lots of things it could be but get thyroid and inflammation levels checked. Apparently Rheumatoid Arthritis issues can start up in / after pregnancy. And also Thyroiditis- apparently thyroid issues can cause muscle aches?! I do have postpartum thyroiditis although I’m not convinced that the aches and pains are actually linked to that, but perhaps they are!? Worth finding out anyway?

Yes back, knees, feet, shoulders!

Start taking collegen supplements x

Yes, my back. Literally a struggle to get off the couch or bed after sitting for long or nursing for that matter.

I have hypothyroidism pre pregnancy and my knees never ache like they do now. I take glucosamine to help and try to work on my core so less stress on the knees😂 if lo lets me. But do see a dr. Thyroid problems can affect everything in your body.

Heya I have the exact same pains and I am 5 months PP too… I think blood test is a good idea… eating well and vitamin D helps I’ve noticed … but not always possible lol

Yep I'm absolutely wiped out 😫 left knee is permanently swollen, back is so bad I have to take ibuprofen at 4am so I can get up at 6, and pelvis has me limping every evening 😅😅😅

Omg is this a thing? Been feeling like an old woman!
