Formula quantity
Hi mums
My baby is 9 months old, and is fully formula fed, with 2-3 solid meals (very less portions though)
As per my online research, a 9 month old should have approx 600-900ml in 24 hours, (5x120ml in a day and none during night)
With my bub, he refuse milk during day and keeps getting up at night where he takes 200ml spread through the night, so it makes up for the 24 hours 600ml.
Today I had MCH midwife appointment, and she told me off telling me that a baby at 9 month shouldn’t be drinking this much milk, I should give him 2 small cups, which is approx 300 ml total in 24 hours and focus more or food.
Now i am confused that which statement is correct???
Can someone help me out here??
If focus more on solids then he can’t have much quantity and he ll wake up at night even more. Please help with eating routine/quantity as well if you can
Thanks 🙏
I would consult a paediatric nutritionist, this is their area. I've found mchn's can give a lot of conflicting information and see things in very black and white, whereas every baby is different.
