My 2 year old has had her nails painted by my MIL since she was about 18 months! She uses water-based nail polishes that just peel off :)

18m-2yrs. Whenever they ask. I’ve been painting my boys’ since about 2 coz he sees me paint mine and wants his painted too 💁🏻‍♀️😂 only lasts him a day. Just do one layer, and don’t get it on the cuticles literally one swipe on each nail is all you need. They’ll last a day, 2 max.

Just use non-toxic nail polish or water based nail polish

@Mohannahas I second this! They sell some non toxic polish at Walmart.

Piggy paint! It’s made for small children

I just do some Elmer's glue and a little bit of wash off paint. Peels right off.

I feel like this is personal preference. I know a lot of moms who paint their kid's nails and even take them to the salon. For me personally, I explain it the same way as I explain make up "one day you can do it, but right now you're a little girl, and little girls don't wear nail polish. Some parents let their kids do it, and that is okay. Every parent is different. This is just what we do in our family"... I explain it that way because she always asks about friends at school who are allowed to paint their nails.

Just personal preference. I’ve seen small babies with nails painted. Started painting my daughter’s around 2 years.

I started with the peel off paint but now she gets them done regularly by either me or one of her grandmas

I think painting a child’s nails that is 1+ is absolutely okay! So cute too lol

I did at 2, I was sure she'd run around and basically smudge it off before it dried but she did a good job sitting still and letting me blow on them
