Yes! We were doing bite size sausage last night…like little cubes, and I was still tearing them apart
I'm definitely still worried about the choking. But you can also offer large "finger foods" and they can chew off that! For instance, giving a chicken drumstick with the skin taken off, they can chew and eat pieces from it. I have super high anxiety with it, but I've been trying to trust my little one and knowing what to do! There's a great app called "solid starts ". There's a free part with all different foods and they'll give suggestions on how to offer it and how to offer it for different age ranges. this app has helped with some relief. It'll get easier the more you let them!
I was horrified starting solids and baby didn’t like purées. The first “solid” food I was comfortable with was the Little Bellies crunchy sticks. After seeing how confident my boy was eating those, I felt better giving him large things to eat like a steamed piece of broccoli or a sliced up piece of avocado toast.
Yeah I fed my son the smallest amounts of itty bitty bites possible and he spit it all up and aspirated 🥴 it's been four days he's still clearing mucus since the event. Been afraid to give him solids since he is 11 months old.
I got one of these and it gives me peace of mind just in case https://lifevac.net/
I just barely started offering meats now that he has 3 teeth because I was so worried about the choking
