Feeding baby

Would you leave your 6mnth old with a relative for a few hours which would include a feed of solids if they hadn't fed them before? I feel really uneasy about leaving baby with my mother in law as each time she has looked after him he usually cries when she turns back up with him, which is no more than an hour usually, and she's never fed him 😕

I’d say it’s a personal decision. There’s a first time for everything but if you’re not ready then that’s valid too x

The first time I leave my LO with my in laws and solids I’m going to give them purée x

Why dont you do a couple of visits with the little one and observe your mil feeding your baby solids first to put yourself at ease? If you need to send your little one to your MIL for childcare/babysitting purposes, I would start trying to go a bit more often or FaceTiming so baby get used to it, however saying that my little one absolutely loves his grandparents, all I have to do is show a picture of them and he starts giggling away, I get sent videos of him having a blast when he’s there but the minute me or his dad go pick him up he absolutely balls the place down 😭💀 he also has now started doing this when his dad walks in from work! Cry and then start whimpering, Like I’ve neglected him all day 🤣 maybe your little one is the same, overly emotional by seeing you, I’m not sure why babies do it but HV said it’s common in clingy babies 🫠
