I was told 6 weeks from birth to heal first week no driving and lifting nothing heavier than baby for the entire 6 weeks. Bleeding and wiping truly depends on person I bled for about 3.5 weeks and was able to comfortably wipe around 2 weeks pp

I didn’t know you couldn’t drive. Aren’t there several pediatric appointments to go to in the beginning?

@Kamari 💛 how do you know when you can give it a try and wipe ?

@Hanah N. Yes, I’ve gotten rides to my baby appointments so far!

I waited to drive with my first because I had 3 second degree tears so I could hardly move. But with my second I didn’t tear at all so I’ve been driving around and more mobile.

@Stephanie how long did you wait ?

I did it based on pain level

I don’t remember exactly how long but roughly 5-7 days after. I basically waited till I felt like I could move my foot back and forth between the gas pedal and the breaks safely without too much pain

I was driving the next day. No heavy lifting over 15lb they told me for the 6 weeks, ive mostly stuck to it but hard with a toddler around too... only a few stitches after birth. Wipe when you feel it is safe, I am still not wiping yet (11 days after) but feel like I probably could now. I've just been dabbing. I think te not driving is outdated advice, not sure what it is that is difficult after a vaginal birth, the painful bit is getting in the seat, but that doesn't matter if you're driving or the passenger. If you are able to check your blind spots and use the pedals safely you should be fine.

I was told only no sex, no tampons, no bath. Obv Im not going to work out or anything till 6weeks, but no one mentioned driving as a no no. I was also told I can pickup my 25lbs toddler, and I have been picking her up. I guess everyone and every OB is different?

@Kamari 💛 okay girl 😅

@Stephanie that is a good way to test it!!

@Charlie yes I am not wiping yet since it’s just been a week! Not in much much pain just sometimes I feel pain. I don’t get it either why couldn’t we drive if it’s just using our feet ?

@Ana omg yesss!! Well my OB just told me the 6 weeks part no sex and nothing up the vagina. But the hospital nurse said no driving for two weeks or lifting or pushing or pulling anything over 10 Ibs! I’m seeing different answers so I do believe each place is different on their advice 👀
