Musical toys on airplane

We are going on a trip in a few weeks and I just wanted to get everyone’s opinion on musical toys on a plane- is it rude? Or do you think people won’t mind? If it is rude what toys do you recommend for travel with a 7 month old?

It is rude yes. There's plenty of other toys to entertain your baby. I travelled several long haul flight and never needed one for my baby.

@Aurélie ok do you have any suggestions for ones to take on the plane then?

Because there are sooo many silent alternatives I think that musical toys aren't necessary! There is every chance you will be asked to turn them off and then you won't have anything at all 😩. At 7 months I reckon your baby will be quite easy to entertain with spinners, poppers, books with flaps and pop up parts. My son used to spend all flight flapping the safety card around 🤣.

Depends on what your baby likes. I took 2 little cars, a pull-up/pull down toy, some soft books. At this age they literally play with clean trash (papers, plastic, or whatever texture). I use to give him the plastic cups from airplane. I also walked with him in the aisle a lot and he was saying HI to people. I had a full baby bag with toys and clean trashes and SNACKS. Cut some fruits in a tupper, banana,... Whatever he eats. And between snacks and play Time, sleep time, you should be fine It's tiring to travel long haul with a baby because you don't get any sleep or rest. But that's our responsibility in any ways. Part of the game 😃 good luck

It’s rude, don’t bring them. There are plenty of silent alternatives xxx

My daughter when we took her at 6 months slept 9 hrs and back. I don’t think you should bring musical toys. Toy cars. Book. Mine had a small bead toy that kept them amused but they were a bit older then.

An electronic toy with a quiet setting or a small rattle are fine. Bring other silent toys so you can alternate, but people would rather hear a tiny bit of noise than hear your baby scream. Airplanes have ambient noise, my husband sitting next to me couldn’t even hear the quiet toys I brought

I travelled when my LO was 6 months. We took a musical toy because it was her favourite, but we turned it off. We also took a doll that she loves and a book. What kept her entertained was a plastic pack of haribo gummy bears 🤷‍♀️

We travel at 6 months but it was 2h flight and she slept it thru , for coming back she wake up half way so gave her plastic bag and chewing toy . If it's long flight get your self inflatable camping pillow it will make flight more comfortable for both of you , I inflate it straight after siting

Silent toys all the way! As a parent I would be fumming if I had to listen to some stupid tune next to me 😂
