Struggling with Weaning

I'm really struggling to get my LO to eat 'normal' meals. We mainly do BLW as he doesn't like being spoon fed, however he only seems to eat things like pancakes/toast and fruit. We eat with him and serve the same (baby friendly) as we're eating, but he just won't eat it. He just chucks it on the floor or just gets grumpy. I know that I can incorporate veggies etc into things like pancakes, but I really want to get him eating a variety of foods without having to hide it. He's nearly one and I just feel like he's nowhere near getting a well balanced diet from food 😔. Any tips?

Following for tips- my baby would just eat fruit, some bites of finger foods, and greek yoghurt if it was up to her! Im still having to blend things and sometimes have to put yoghurt on top đŸ˜”â€đŸ’«

Mines the same
will only eat purĂ©ed foods and Greek yogurt and wants to be spoon fed (still EBF too) I’ve blended sweet potatoes and ground beef and he eats it but I want him to eat solids on his own
he just spits it out or throws it to the dog đŸ˜”â€đŸ’«

Honestly i wouldn’t worry too much, they go through phases. A friend of ours has an 18 month old and he won’t eat anything but toast at the moment. Refuses everything else! So I think you just have to keep offering and go with it for a little while and maybe be glad they are eating anything because apparently that might change 😅

Mine doesn’t eat “normal” foods either
We’ve been trying to let him self feed, every day we put a plate in front of him with appropriate sized foods, but he just plays with it and eventually drops the whole plate on the floor. I tried to feed him these pieces, and on some days he takes maybe one or two pieces and refuses any more. He will only eat purĂ©es and yogurt (besides milk and formula) when we feed him, and he can feed himself some processed snacks like puffs and veggies sticks only!

Seems like we all have yoghurt addicts!!!

I’m so glad it’s not just my child that would survive on yoghurt if she could!

Keep offering! Throwing is part of learning though and it’s very normal for them to throw food before progressing to it they’re just experimenting. Give a mixture of foods you know baby will eat with some new ones x
