Sex

When did everyone first have sex after birth? I had a 2nd degree tear - I haven’t had it yet as I’m scared it might hurt 🥴

I waited 6-8 weeks after, I waited for all my stitches to come out and to heal first. I had forceps and an epiostomy or whatever it's called x

@Skye any pain? I think just after birth and the healing process I’m mega scared of any pain

I was 2 days before 6 weeks. I had a forceps delivery and was cut and had a tear. I was the same as you when I first had sex as I was really nervous it would hurt however it was totally fine. My son is now 9 weeks but I am still nervous when having sex even though it is fine. I think I just have a bit of trauma from the birth that I will probably feel like that for a while x

I was 6 weeks pp after a second degree tear internally and an episiotomy also. For me it was really painful and had to take it super slow but now at 6 months pp it’s back to normal!

I had a C-section so a bit different but I waited the recommended 6 weeks.. i couldn’t wait longer as we didn’t do anything really for the last few months as I was so big and uncomfortable 😩😂

No pain just a slightly bit uncomfortable, I also used extra lube which helped alot x

@Lauren I’m 12 weeks pp and still nervous to have it!! I think as you say it’s the trauma and the thought of any more pain down there freaks me out! X

@Amy I’m 12 weeks pp just now but still nervous, I didn’t have an episiotomy but did have the same second degree tear. Can’t cope with the thought of pain down there again think I’d have ptsd 😭😂

I promise it does get better!!! But don’t worry I was the exact same 🤣🤣

I had a c section for both of mine and it was MONTHS before I had enough time or energy to even think about sex 🙈🤣

I was the same, second (almost third) degree tear and waited over 3 months at least. Don't pressure yourself, it'll happen when it happens.

I have been to the physio since giving birth and she recommend doing some light massage where the scar is to get used to the feeling again. She also recommend putting slight pressure on the area with your finger (not enough that it is painful) and breathing in nice and slowly until the pressure is gone

I had a c section so not quite the same but I wouldn't let him touch me till 8 weeks because I was scared of rubbing the scar 😅

C section, but waiting until after my coil check around 8 weeks
