Birthday parties

My daughter has been invited to two birthday parties in the next couple weeks from pre school friends. I’m a huge introvert so this is so out of my comfort zone. What on earth do I do? Do I get the child a present? If so, what?! Help lol

It begins... I'm sorry to say this will be your life now. I'm not there yet, but I have friends who are. You go, watch your kid have fun and make sure they play nice, that other kids play nice with them. Small talk with other parents if you get chatting. Bring a gift, age appropriate and universally liked - home bargains or b&m is your friend

It’s literally my worst nightmare but I don’t want my girl to end up anxious like me so I’m putting myself out there 😵‍💫 I have no clue what toys to buy lol x

What Toria has said! I’ve found you can’t go too far wrong with arts and crafts sets, or PlayDoh! After the first few parties you may even start making good connections with other pre-school parents 😊

We've started with the parties too! Also an introvert! If you go onto argos website and type in toys for 3 year old boy etc it comes up with toys for that age and gender which I've found helpful!

You can't go wrong with buying craft stuff or a nice book

We are there too now and I feel similar about them. I try and find out what the child is into and Amazon a present.. or just get something I know my son would like! It is a good way to get to know the other parents and like someone said this is our life now.. a sacrifice for our children 🙈 I do think it’s also ok to not go to every party invited too otherwise they can eat into every weekend! Just focus on the ones where your child has expressed an interest or is developing a friendship with other kids going 😊
