Egg Allergy, or???

Daughter is 6.5 months. We've been slowly doing solids (BLW style) since about 4.5 months. She has had egg yolk (over medium cooked egg), and products that contain eggs. But every time she eats a bite of scrambled egg from my breakfast burrito, she vomits within about 30 seconds of swallowing it. And it's not just gagging up the egg like it's too big. She vomits up half her bottle she drank an hour before. She can eat the sausage bits and potato bits in it without a problem. Maybe the occasional gag as she learns to swallow, but she's been doing AMAZING with that lately. Idk if it's maybe a texture thing? *Pic of LO for algo tax*

Is there milk in the scramble? How is she with other dairy products? Sounds like it could be FIPES.

To narrow it down you should give her just egg with no seasoning. A great test is to cut up a hard boiled egg. It could be more of a sensory issue. Maybe she likes the taste but something about the texture of scrabbled eggs makes her gag which induces vomiting. My daughter has FIPES from eggs and this doesn't sound like that. FIPES usually will happen 2-3 hours after ingestion of the allergen. FIPES happens in the intestines so it has to have time to get there. With FIPES they will start violently vomiting and it will last for hours. It's usually accompanied with bad diarrhea.

@Melody i don't know, but she has had cheese and sour cream without a problem. And her formula, the first 2 ingredients are non-fat milk and lactose.

@Sarah an over medium egg yolk was one of the first foods she had. By itself. No other food. No seasoning.

It sounds like it might just be a texture thing or something else inside of your breakfast burrito then.

Does she get red spots around her mouth? I'm actually more concerned about the processed foods: sausages and potatoes, especially so young. Way too much fat, and salt and god knows what else. Maybe stick to whole foods to see if that helps. My daughter has an egg allergy. She would vomit but also had hives (red spots) around her mouth. If you are ensure, maybe it's a good idea to discuss it with pediatrician to get her tested. In the meantime, try eliminating other possibilities: give her just the egg and see how she reacts. And definitely no processed foods. At least until you get this figured out and better yet, never 😉
