still not healed anyone? šŸ„ŗ

hi loves, iā€™m 4 weeks postpartum on sunday so 3 days from now, i had an episiotomy, and a second degree tear, i donā€™t feel that healed at all. iā€™m grateful that im not in as much pain/sore as i was after birth, but iā€™m certainly that much better either. is anyone else still not feeling too great in the vaginal region? šŸ˜… i have stupidly pushed myself a bit much physically thinking i was fine to do so, and recently because of this the discomfort has picked up, so if youā€™re currently healing, PLEASE REST. for anyone with previous experience of healing from vaginal injuries during birth, how long did you take to feel no discomfort/soreness down there please? ā¤ļø

I also had an episiotomy and it wasnā€™t until around 6 weeks that I started to feel healed! I started having Epsom salt baths that I think helped a lot with the stitches ā˜ŗļø keep on top of paracetamol and ibuprofen and youā€™ll soon be healed! Just make sure to check for any signs of infection ā˜ŗļø

@Chelsea that makes me feel a lot more reassured! thank you so much. iā€™m unable to have salt baths because we only have a walk in shower :( x also, i did have an infection at the 1 week mark which i got antibiotics for and all seems good now! xx i also wasnā€™t taking painkillers the last two days as i ran out and i think that made a HUUUUGE difference in how i was feeling down there, iā€™ve got them again now and defo staying on top!

@Anisha ā™” no worries! I found I felt like I wasnā€™t healing for ages and then it all of a sudden healed and felt fine! Iā€™m 8 months pp now and I find the scar aches sometimes especially if I have been in a squatting position! Have you tried using after birth spray? I think I had the expert midwife sprits for bits which I found helped soothe it a lot ā˜ŗļø xx

I had a second degree tear as well and at my 6w pp visit I still had stitches that did not dissolve and had to be pulled out. From there my doc said to give it another 6w to be healed completely.

I had an extended episiotomy and it took me much longer than 4 weeks to heal. I used a donut pillow for several months and had to take it everywhere I went. I remember in the first few weeks pp, I went to a medical appt and in my attempt to get comfortable, I popped the stitches. When I got it checked out by my GP, she confirmed. Plus I had developed a minor infection in the area. So I had antibiotics (2x rounds). I would definitely recommend getting a donut pillow (if youā€™re not using it already) and if youā€™re still breastfeeding sitting down, there are safe ways to breastfeed laying down. If itā€™s sore or uncomfortable pls donā€™t push through it. Itā€™s not meant to be painful for this long. It may also be worth seeing your GP /doctor to make sure everythingā€™s ok downstairs. If they say the woundā€™s healed but itā€™s still sensitive, it may be worth getting it checked for granulated tissue - where your inner tissue comes thru the open wound and the wound heals around the tissue.

I had two tears: one vaginal, one labial, both requiring two stitches each. Mine took just over 6 weeks to heal.

Hey I was the same it was around 6/7 weeks before I started feeling ā€œhealedā€ Iā€™m 9 weeks pp and still canā€™t move too quickly from the bed without feeling some sort of pressure/ pain. I second the baths and spritz for bits was my go to after having himšŸ¤šŸ¤ I was also the same and didnā€™t really rest and I regret it so much now

An episiotomy takes time to heal, 4 weeks is still very early. mine didnā€™t fully heal for months. The recovery is brutal and I there were times I couldnt sit down, the first week I couldnā€™t even walk properly. Iā€™m now 8 months PP and even now it can feel tender. It just takes time lovely x

I didnā€™t dilate all the way so I tore really badly, I didnā€™t heal completely until about 10 weeks postpartum. Itā€™s different for everyoneā€™s body, I also couldnā€™t sit up or walk for the first 2 weeks and had to have multiple emergency OBGYN postpartum appointments

Took me 6 months to feel organs go up in right place, I thought I had prolapse but my gynaecologist said I needed rest. I made sure I slept on my back n rested for first 3 weeks this time around, this time I am able to sit well. I did have grade one tear which didnā€™t need stitching, slowly recovering still but m 4 month pp. it gets better, try not to strain yourself by moving too quickly. Also donā€™t b afraid to take paracetamol if youā€™re in pain. First time around I had internal stitches down there than outer layer
