Feeling resentful

Is anyone else feeling resentful of their baby? I’m in pain 24/7 and have been for over a month now with back and pelvis pain. I think my baby has either cracked or bruised my rib but she keeps shoving her feet into the same spot and it is absolutely excruciatingly painful when she does. I’m feeling like she hates me and I’m resenting her for the all the pain she is causing me. I still have 4 more weeks to go and I am just not coping 😔 I feel like this might be harder for me because I am doing this for the first time in my mid 40s 😭 Is anyone else feeling resentful of their baby because of how hard they are making it?

I'm almost in my mid 40s and although I've had no energy since 10 weeks I'm not resentful... However, with my son I had in my late 20s I just remember feeling nothing as expected and getting different kinds of ill all the time and describing him as a parasite!!! It's very normal, especially considering the amount of pain you're in 🤗 I would have a word with your GP or midwife about coping though. I don't have any support (other than my Husband who's battling some of his own demons at times) so I already have a mental health midwife. Thankfully I was also having CBT so haven't needed her yet, but she's putting a more supportive birth plan in place which is comforting. I don't know what support is like in your area, but pregnant people are prioritised. I'm 34 weeks and getting even more emotional about everything and it's tough at times. I know someone who named their baby Amity (after the horror film) because she ended up so resentful! People here hear you...you're not alone 💞

It sounds like you have PGP if you are struggling alot with pain in hips. Do you have a good pregnancy pillow? There is physio your midwife will arrange to help and you can take paracetamol etc if it helps. If I feel baby in a very uncomfortable position I usually try and manoeuvre, you'll feel where they are now and I just try and get them to move (it usually works for me) I.m 39 and in a lot of discomfort compared to my first 3yrs ago. I think you should talk to a professional if you feel this way towards your baby, especially if you think she Hates you, your baby isn't purposely hurting you.

The rib pain was brutal with my first pregnancy. I felt bruised, nothing beats that rib pain. Have you tried a heat pack on it? It helped me. I’m lucky this time my baby is sitting low early so I haven’t had much rib pain
