Taking longer isn't an issue unless it is a really long time, bothering them, or the teat is collapsing when they suck. Did she say why to reduce it?

She said it might help with her reflux but I see no difference just concerned as she's 3 months now she should be up a teat now

There is no such thing as "should be" the ages on the teats are a guide not a rule. If you were combo feeding they tell you to use 0 or 1 indefinitely. Mine is 15 weeks and still uses a 1.

Thankyou will stick to size 1 for now see if helps

I have recently switched to a size 2 teat and noticed a big difference in milk intake, my lo is also on nutramigen. Same as yours, he was taking so long to finish and would get bored or fed up to the point where he wouldn’t get his full feeds in. Since changing the teat he has been gulping it down no problem and increased from 4oz to 5oz now. Also has mild reflux but it doesn’t seem to have caused any issues.

My LB is 12 weeks on Puramino (very thin) and we’re still in teat size 0. He’s a gulper though and drinks too fast. He has awful silent reflux too and we were advised the smaller the tear the better so he’s not drinking too fast. But really it depends on your baby and what’s right for them
