Is anyone on here giving their toddler any supplements to increase their appetite?

The only thing that really frustrates me about my daughter is the fact that she doesn’t eat. She has never been a great eater being completely honest. And I know this because I’m looking at what she has managed to consume throughout the whole week and it never actually seems like a lot, for reference she’ll have 40-50% of what’s been served to her for breakfast & have a some cheese and not at all touch lunch or dinner majority of the week. If it’s ever a “good eating day” she’ll have 40-50% of her breakfast and dinner and don’t bother with lunch. She never finishes her plate like ever and I don’t even serve her a big portion. Obviously my biggest concern is whether she’s eating enough and getting enough nutrients. I’ve stopped breastfeeding to see if it made any difference and it didn’t work. She’s still not eating so I’m now looking into supplements as this is our last resort to try and get her to eat better. I need recommendations for supplements that helps to increase her appetite with all the necessary vitamins would be a plus and also we are still yet find a multivitamin that doesn’t taste like metal. She might just be picky/not want to eat actual food. My son is this way right now he use to eat almost everything I made and now he refuses everything. Only thing I can get him to eat are finger snacks and fruit lol. I’ve just been trying to find as healthy of snacks as possible then getting whatever fruit he will eat. I’ve also been trying to add in those nutrient shakes and also have been getting purée pouches with protein so he can get some of his nutrient still cause I’m at the point idk how he’s even surviving 😭😅

@Tayva yeah it’s so hard and it’s really getting me down because she has always been this way! I doubt myself thinking is it me that’s doing something wrong as I see other toddlers eat so well, it’s so frustrating feel like an absolute failure sometimes. At least your kid is eating fruits I can’t even get mine to eat any fruits 🤦🏻‍♀️

Please talk to your pediatrician ❤️

@Amy I definitely feel that 😭 whenever we go out with our friends they all eat whatever there mom gives them then there’s me trying to offer a million things lol. Just keep offering I’ve had to just realize he’s not upset or anything and if he was actually starving then he would probably eat something. But I agree talk to your pediatrician I’m gonna be bringing it up at our next appointment too!

This is 💯 something you should consult your pediatrician on. Is your child underweight/not meeting growth milestones?

@Anne her pediatrician said she’s slightly underweight, she’s on the taller side too. We have an appointment next week regarding her weight so I’m hoping there’s some improvement there but in terms of her eating it’s still very inconsistent.

feed her whatever she will eat and then add something new! eventually she will eat more!

@Amy oh great! glad you have an appointment to discuss it! supplements seems drastic if you haven’t explored lifestyle changes yet, and definitely something to get approval from a pediatrician first. maybe your pediatrician will be able to connect you to resources that may help, like a pediatric nutritionist. @Anne thank you for being so helpful, I’ll look into this!
