Feeding when sick / tv

A couple of weeks ago my little boy had a really bad viral infection and refused to eat. In a desperate attempt we introduced the iPad just to try and get a little something down him. I really never wanted to go down that route but it was the only thing that helped. It’s taken such a long time to shift the infection and he still has a runny nose but now he kicks off almost every mealtime until we put Miss Rachel on. We all sit at the table together and chat etc and I try to make it fun when spoon feeding but he gets himself so worked up. I don’t know what to do to get him out of it. Any suggestions please?

You could try weaning like you would a dummy etc? Just less time each day during the mealtime until it’s no longer needed? I’ve not experienced this so just an idea!

We had the same and had to resort to dancing fruit whilst she had a cold. I thought we were never going get away from it but now breakfast and lunch are absolutely fine and just use it for a bit at dinner if she is tired. I just started each meal without it and tried to distract with fave food/singing until the whinging got too much then I'd turn it on. After about a week she stopped needing it at all. I think it just took time for her appetite to fully come back.

Thanks both, the suggestions make me feel much better. We managed breakfast and a bit of lunch without it today so it’s a start!
