Meals with toddler !

Does anyone else 19 month gives you problems at EVERY meal time ?? Like he just on go everytime he tries to refuse to eat every meal I give him no matter if he’s ate it before if it’s new it literally doesn’t matter he will throw a fit when it’s time to eat … he was never like this before he was always a good eater I’m just so stressed out because his doctors at his last appointment said something like “make sure he’s getting all three meals” like yea no duh , & I’m literally fighting for my life tryna get him to eat 😅 . Any advice for a overstimulated mama ?

My 2 year old has been doing the same thing! I’ve been giving her options at meal time and not gonna lie, I’ve been bribing her to eat 😅 but once she eats I make a big deal out of it and get super excited for her and she loves it

Yea , I would do that but I don’t think my son will fully comprehend bribing yet lol 😂😂 , he will literally hold the food in his mouth and not chew , or run away and go spit it out somewhere like dude really

@Carmen oh I’m so glad she doesn’t spit out food anymore 🤣 this girl doesn’t get snacks, sweets, or outside play until she eats some protein. She would literally live off of fruit, fries, pediasure, and cookies if I let her lol

My 20 month old has always been picky and would only eat a full meal if she thought nobody was in the room with a movie on. Her pediatrician suggested using screen time as a distraction and it definitely helped temporarily. 6 months ago, she started refusing any sit-down meal. She went a couple of days just eating Cheerios (+breastmilk) and that’s when I realized, she just likes snacks for now. Making everything into a “snack” by serving one type of food at a time while she could freely run around/ play has made the biggest impact. Find ways to turn food into finger-foods. Like instead of scrambling eggs, I use a mini waffle iron and cut it into strips/ cubes. And instead of mashed potatoes, I make her fries. I know she’ll eventually grow out of this but it gets her eating for the time being. Something that helps when introducing new foods is me eating it alone in front of her. That allows her to be interested/ open minded about it first. Follow your gut, and adapt to YOUR baby❤️
