Collecting colostrum

I’m 37 weeks on Sunday and I was wondering when is the right time to start collecting colostrum?

I started collecting at 35+5 after discussing with my midwife and being cleared. It’s normally recommended after 37 weeks they say it can potentially induce labour so to start once baby is full term xx

I started at 36 weeks! Am now 37+2 and have collect 6 syringes. X

I’m 37 weeks today and started yday , did any of you guys have clear runny milk at the start? I’m a ftm here , idk if that’s even colostrum or just fore milk? I managed to get a little bit but should I discard or keep?

@Dee Yes everyone’s can look different, it may change to that typical yellow like colostrum or it may stay like that. Definitely keep and feed to baby! X

I started at 35+5 due to leaking anyway, however quickly realised everytime I was hand expressing it was causing painful contractions, so I stopped and have now started again at 37 weeks x
