Progesterone only pill (desogestrel) symptoms
Hi ladies, I’ve recently started the progesterone only pill (it’s been a week) and today I suddenly felt nauseous, sick, palpitations, headache with dizziness. The common symptoms are headache and dizziness so wanted to ask if anyone else has had these symptoms with this certain pill! What symptoms have people had if any? Does it cause weight gain and mood swings/depression? Still recovering from PPD so really want to avoid these if I can help it. The progesterone IUD is a plan b if the pill doesn’t work for me.

@Christina hi thanks for commenting! Yeah I hope it was a one off and I hope it doesn’t cause me any mood changes too. Omg… it’s only been a week for me and I have experienced the drop in libido too 😭 I exp this PP bc I had a CS too it was weeks before we did anything and greatly affected us for months. So bummed that it’s a massively common side effect 😭
Yeah, it’s really annoying! I’m now looking at alternative contraception options because it’s affecting my relationship 😣

I’m on the pill now and I wonder if that might explain my drop in libido too! I thought this was mainly to do with PP but it probably doesn’t help 😔

Hi, I am also on that pill for a couple of months now. First of all, I hope that this episode of nausea was just a one off and that it doesn’t cause any mood problems for you. The only symptom that I have to deal with is a massively reduced sex drive. I know that it can be due to a lot of other things pp as well, but I have friends that have not had a baby, who describe the exact same thing…
