ROI is its own department that handles the paperwork and ensures it’s filled out but you gotta check up on them and EDD. If the email says it’s been received then give it 3 business days until you call to see if they sent it over to EDD. Once they confirm it’s good to go, go on your online account at EDD and check it’s good to go! Worst case you have to call and you can give them the confirmation number if needed but it’s not always the easiest thing. If everyone is doing their part than your blessed and all is well babe. Just ensure that IF you are going to be getting an extension for disability that the certification is sent at least a week before your last doctors note date. You don’t want a delay on payments and you don’t want to have to restart the process or file incorrectly. Don’t start paid family leave until your disability is completely done. (For instance if you had a c-section, or postpartum depression, anxiety etc) That’s still a disability and get your doctors

note for that and then stay on the EDD website because they will automatically send you the Paid Family Leave request and you will fill it out. If you don’t hear back from them in a week they have a separate number and contact info so you’ll contact them for payments and confirmation. Good luck and congratulations 🫶🏼

I had issues and my late husband had to repeatedly do it with a lot of calls to hr and Kaiser they kept saying diffrent things And when I took time off after he died it never got approved with edd. And Kaiser wouldn’t sent the correct paperwork even when I had a breakdown and got medically unable to work

Kaiser in Sacramento was great and fast with it. If you have the app it has a certain section you got to for FMLA/SDI requests and you just submit the info and they take care of it

Yes it takes a week once you send it and you will start getting emails from Edd
