Food

So, my daughter is nearly one and has always been a great eater! She only has 2 6oz bottles a day, she has breakfast, lunch, mid afternoon snack and dinner. Recently she has been rejecting food or she will eat a bit then spit it out! Any advice, it’s driving me crazy and I’m worried she’ll be hungry!

Following as my little boy has just started doing the same he turned 1 last week but still has a bottle for naps x

Is she teething or coming down with something? My lo is a great eater, eats me out of house and home but she's currently off food cause she's teething x

@Helena she is teething and she is getting over a bit of a bug x

@Tia that could well be it. We've found softer foods and offering her favourites has encouraged her to eat a bit more. Jam sandwiches are currently going down a treat 🤣 I'm telling myself I'll get her back on the healthier options when she's better but who doesn't want their favourite snacks when they're poorly!

@Helena oo that’s very interesting to hear! She is fine with like mash or porridge!

@Tia ours is the same! Porridge, soggy cereal, sandwiches, mash all fine. She tried to bite a biscuit earlier and really upset herself then refused to eat anything else 🤦‍♀️ x

Teething and illness definitely effect appetite but also their growth slows massively around 1 so they need less food than they were having before generally anyway so could be a combination of these things. I wouldn’t worry too much, it’s your job to offer a balanced diet and babies job to decide what they’d like to eat they’ll take what they need x
