Totally normal. Just roll with it! Keep mealtimes fun and easy with low expectations. If baby doesn't eat, no big deal, try again later or the next day. Eat together and model eating yourself with exaggerated motions and chewing. Don't try to force it or make it a thing, that will just make him more resistant. Playing is normal behaviour - he's learning the texture and consistency of food. Don't feed too close to milk times - make sure he's just hungry enough but not over hungry and agitated. Also, if / when he throws food or wastes it, don't make a big deal - just take it away, clean it up and end the meal. Kids eventually just learn to eat - some take to it right away and some don't, but they all will in time. He has lots of time yet to figure it out. Try to let go of any "expectations" and as long as his weight is fine and he's growing, just think of food as fun and keep it as low pressure as possible!
Thank you @Melissa !! 💜
My 9 month is the same. She refuses purée foods. Some days she will enjoy exploring the food and biting and chewing but doesn’t swallow much of it. We are no way near 2/3 meals a day.
