Ignoring when we call him

Omg this drives me insaneeeee we could be saying his name 10 times and he just doesn’t respond! There is no delay he knows his name as he can say his own name and points to himself! But wow I don’t even know why it triggers me so much! I could be there offering him a bag of sweets calling his name and he will just ignore us 🤣

My little boy does this and it drives me insane is well!!

@Georgia it’s funny isn’t it because I say his name and be like helloooo??? And he just sits there ignoring me I can feel myself getting annoyed and really for no reason 🤣🤣

Have you talk to the health visitor about it, could be a hearing issue or an autistic trait?

@Wendy I haven’t tbh I have spoken to a few people and they’ve said the same! I just didn’t expect it to be so annoying 🤣

If this is when he's playing or when he's focused on something it's really normal developmentally. Toddlers attention at 2 years is 'single channelled' - generally they can either listen or do, and need help to draw their attention from one thing to another. So if he's really focused on playing he may not actually be able to focus in on the fact you're calling his name. That skill normally develops nearer to 3 years old. Hopefully that makes it less annoying, he's not ignoring you on purpose ☺️

@Bekah hahaha Yeahh I get it and I know that at the time but it’s funny how different things get to people like I never get frustrated with him just like omg so annoying 🤣
