First weaning meal

My baby is almost 6 months old, and I'll be giving her, her first meal this weekend, but I'm overwhelmed with where to start. What did you start with? Any recommendations? How do you keep track? Thanks 🥰

We started Monday with gibing individual foods and were going to do a few allergens this week too. We started with weetabix on Monday, yesterday she had banana and raspberries and today she is going to have some egg.

So I first started with baby porridge (same make as her milk) and then we tried veggies and other things x

I’m going to do our first meal this weekend too. I’m going to do at lunchtime. I’m gonna offer broccoli florets and also some smashed up in a bowl at same time. I use huckleberry to keep track and you can input food.

Im starting with one veg a day, some mashed up some whole, and then ill do allergens. Just keep it small and simple if you need to and build up as you get confidence.

I started with pureed carrot. This week so far she has had carrot, broccoli, sweet potatoes and potatoe (I ran out of veg). I just cut up a small amount and cook, then blits in the blender with a bit of my milk. I have a couple of pots in thr freezer where I made a bit too much. I have huckleberry I put what we have tried on. I also got the Ella kitchen free weaning chart. There is a weaning chart you can get off of tikok for not a lot too if you use tiktok

Honestly I did maybe one day of single fruit/veg puree and then realised that was a lot of effort and now I’m just mashing/blending whatever we have without salt added and then giving something for finger food like the pasta on the side or a cucumber stick or something just for interest!

I’ve not done a meal. Just finger food and purees. She’s had Cucumber Avo Boiled apples Watermelon Broccoli Sweet potato Puree spinach Puree carrot Greek yog Butter on toast

I'm planning to start with baby rice or porridge then move onto pureed vegs first then introduce fruits as i dont want her to taste the sweet stuff first.

I started with maybe one veg for a day or 2. Then I just started mashing whatever we had for dinner. So far she’s had a roast (puréed) and she had pasta bake last night x

I started with first tastes first so just veg such as carrots, broccoli, sweet potato etc. I did this for a week and then moved on to the bigger meals like pancakes, french toast and pasta, etc. I alsway offer a puree option on the side of his meals such as a punch a spoon of full fat yoghurt with chia seeds, with his spoon to also encourage him with his spoon and help with the hand eye coordination. Xx
