why is everyone constantly asking when they can have sex again postpartum? i was under the impression the doctors tell everyone at least 6 weeks unless there were complications

lol people come seeking answers that suit the one they wish to hear

I had a 4, 8 and 12 wk pp visit and they said I was ok to go when I was ready after 6 wks

@Parker 又 good point. i would listen to doctors over random strangers online but thats just me lol

@Christina🤱🏼🍂☕️♈️ exactly, after 6 weeks!

My OB was cool as shit too and said even if your body maybe be healed, your mind isn’t. I tried at 8 weeks cuz I couldn’t stand my husband whimpering and begging and I said “not again until I’m ready” nobody gives time to heal!!!! Pregnant and birth is such a beautiful yet traumatic experience for anyone regardless of everything going “right” and shouldn’t be taken lightly

Same same same but that’s not why a person decides to make a post to the general public

Not all hospitals or health care providers are equal sadly. I had great obstetrician care, I realise that after seeing how other woman on here get no information at all about their bodies pre and post baby. There’s also a lack though of education about our own bodies generally for lots of mums. Mums who think their lochia is their period, mums who think breastfeeding and pull out is effective birth control, mums who clean inside their vagina, mums who complain about infections but don’t want to entertain understanding why it happened. We have to educate ourselves ladies xx

To be fair, I don’t think it’s routinely communicated in the UK. I was never told, we were discharged from hospital and baby had routine checks from the health visitor and midwives but nothing regarding me or having sex.
