Toddler recognises she’s doing a poo or has done one or a trump

So my 14 month old has started saying poo poo at above times. I know she’s too early to potty train but is there any next steps from here? I m clueless

I think around 15months is the earliest toddlers can show signs of potty readiness. So yes, introduce the potty & start reading books etc...

It’s never too early 😁 I started mine from 9 months and he was doing amazingly then turned 1 and regressed massively 😅 If you’re on Facebook, join a group called Elimination Communication. They have so much useful advice!

Not at all too early to try, especially as she is recognising she needs to go.

@Harriet 9 months is far too early, hence the regression.

My toddler has done the same (and hides) since 14m, but health visitor and everything I’ve read says do it between 20-30months otherwise it takes ages and is more stressful for everyone

@Rachel regressions happen for a number of reasons & its a normal part of their development. Age of when the child is potty trained doesn't make any difference. You could have a 4 year old who had been fully potty trained for a year, then they could start school & then regress back to having accidents. Its not uncommon for children to be potty trained from a younger age. In some countries/cultures, this is actually considered as being 'normal'. The longer potty training is left, the more its teaching the child that their nappy is where they go. Obviously we're excluding medical conditions etc... Children tend to show signs of readiness from a younger age & it does go unnoticed.

My little girl has done this since 14 months and I got her a potty straight away, she is now 17 months and goes on the potty sometimes so doing it early will help when fully transitioning from nappy’s to potty x
