I wouldn’t start until their body is ready which is around 5-6m. And it doesn’t go in the bottle as it can be a choking hazard
I wouldn't put it in a bottle ever ask its a choking hazard. Aside from that, starting solids when baby has met all milestones/signs of readiness is best. This is usually around 6 months.
We started as doctors recommended because she lost weight in Covid
I started when his doctor ok it for him which was close to his 6 months. We did the beech nut one but we’ve also done the boxed one too and just regular oatmeal too
We’ve never put it in his bottle, we waited until he was 6months before starting giving him porridge and then weetabix
Never unless prescribed to do so by a doctor for reflux or weight issues
You never ever put it in a bottle if that’s what you mean. As for feeding it with a spoon the earliest recommended age is 6 months. But, it’s not nutritional in the slightest so you’d be much better off starting off with vegetables when they’re old enough
You don't put cereal in a baby's milk. It is a choking hazard. You wait until they are 6 months old & give it to them properly when you start the weaning process.
Did your doctor recommend this? If not it’s not safe, unnecessary and outdated. If over 6 months then give cereal as a meal rather then in the bottle
@Rachel unless told by doctors
Why would you put it in a bottle?
@Kamryn🇲🇽 you never put cereal in the bottle. Not even if a doctor says to.
@Rachel no I said like using rice below 6 months
@Kamryn🇲🇽 even then, you give them something else, not baby rice. There is no nutritional value in baby rice so it is pointless.

Personally, I would never put anything in the baby's bottle other than milk because it can cause them to choke. My pediatrician said that starting a baby on cereal is kind of outdated. My son is nine months old and we fed him oatmeal for the first time probably a month ago other than that it's been mainly fruits and vegetables.
We gave our baby Wheatabix, and oatmeal (regular plain satchet) mixed with formula milk (but fed as a regular meal on high chair with spoon and bowl) at 6 months. From 7.5 months started using regular cows milk to make it instead (heated slightly)
@Rachel it helps gain weight so doctors know how to help. My baby gained all the weight she lost due to health back so I don't believe you I believe my doctor, but I guess it's an opinion at the end of the day.....
@Kamryn🇲🇽 gaining weight doesn’t mean it’s nutritional. Chocolate makes me gain weight but it’s not good for me.
I tried putting cereal in my sons bottle and all it did was clog the nipple and make him mad, so after that with him & my twins I just mix it in a bowl for them to actually eat. Maybe put a little baby food in it for some flavor if it’s the plain cereal. My twins’ ped said we could start testing it out at 4m if they were ready but I just waited until 6m when it was put onto my WIC card. Which of course they do Gerber, it hasn’t effected them at all (like if the iron is too high I’d expected more solid poop or maybe constipation but it hasn’t been an issue at all).
