Separation anxiety

My 17 month old has all of sudden started showing strong signs of not wanting to separated from me, especially when going to childcare - I haven’t really experienced it like this till now. Wondering if anyone else is going through something similar?

Same here! It’s soooo bad - he gets upset when I leave the room!!! Upset when going to my sister in law who lives next door and was previously one of his fave people. It’s developmentally appropriate but I bit tiring

Totally normal to peak at 14-18 months, however it's important to keep practising separation so they can see you always come back. Talk to them about what's going to happen at drop off, during the day and pick up. They understand more than you think! For example, say when we go to daycare miss x is going to be so excited to see you and give you a big cuddle when you say bye to mummy. Then you'll play, have lunch, have a nap, have snack and then mummy will be back to pick you up! And just know that if they were truly struggling, daycare would call you. Usually it's just a brief moment at drop off, or lots of emotions after coming home
