TV

Hello, I know this is a controversial topic and no judgement here. Just wondering if you let your little one watch tv? If so, how much and what? ❤️

I do for my own sanity i was against it being naive but i do no more than 2hr a day i don't necessarily sit her infront for 2hrs it will be 20 or 30mins just to get dinner prepared etc. I play bear in the big blue house, clifford and ms rachael, farm animal clips

@Marie it’s the only thing keeping me going on some days.. I’ll put on either ms Rachel or wiggles or just have my tv in the background. Usually in the early morning or late arvo. 😥

Same here just to catch my breath. We have tv on but she runs off n plays also not glued to it

I dnt let her watch too much like 5 min here and there n shes like 3 metres from the tv My friend son was not even 2 and learnt to count and knows his colours n never went to daycare my friends said its from him watching YouTube kids But yeah each to their own

Yup, TV is a great tool. And lots of shows are educational. I use it for times when I need to prep food, or to get my boy to sit in his pram or car seat.

My partner wouldn't survive without TV lol. We have a lot of fights because of it. In the end, I gave up. Now I turn him Rachel in the morning for 1-2 hours he just loves it (and it makes my mornings peaceful). He is not interested in anything else. Even when my partner watches TV (what's at night or weekends), he das his on things and does not pay attention to tv.

Same as the others. When I need to get things done or she’s bored with her toys and needs a new activity when I’m working we will add in sections of the day with some YouTube kids. Blippy (huge favourite!), wiggles, nursery rhythms ect.

If I'm trying to cook or something and she's really in the way, I'll turn it on. But I don't automatically turn it on when I start cooking, she might be happily playing or want to stand in her learning tower and 'help'. I also put it on to cut her nails, it's the only way to get her to sit still. Occasionally in the car if she's losing it. She loves Ms Rachel and Wiggles. Ms Rachel taught her to say "uh oh" and she does actions to all the songs

Also my daughter figured out how to turn the tv on 🤣🤣

@Chloe this cracked me up! In the tower to ‘help’ haha. Yeah I find my son has learned so much as well from Ms Rachel, he follows her actions, some animal sounds, uh oh and other simple words.

@Livia yep same with the fights. gave in and just said, Whateva works.. But dad does take him out a lot too so I can’t complain (too much) 😂

@Cassy her idea of helping is shoving the food in her mouth or chucking stuff in the sink 😂

We’ve done tv specifically for him (memo and rio) a couple of times when he’s been sick and once when I was. Tried on a plane but he wasn’t interested in it on a phone. We’re not strict on it though and definitely don’t mind if he sees a tv on like if we go to a friends and there’s sport on or whatever.

@Chloe constantly adding eggs as the last ingredient regardless of the recipe because I know I can’t stop him “taste testing” the whole way through 😂 And “helping” with the washing up… basically a shower!
