Maternity support workers would be the closest thing to nursing associates but they're not very close in terms of responsibility or pay
@Charley ahh thankyou I will keep on the lookout then. I did look into maternity support worker but there’s no jobs near me and it’ll be a huge drop in pay unfortunately

Midwifery apprenticeships exist, they're not very common as it takes a lot to set up a new course. Staffing levels mean you need to make sure students have adequate supervision, so you can't just keep adding students into departments without the staff to cover them if that makes sense. That's the issue we had in my profession (radiography) but we're 3 years in now and our first cohort of radiographer apprentices are now qualified and working within the department and registered.
