Weaning

Hey ladies! First time mum here! Is it too early to start weaning? My little boy has started teething before he even turned 3 months so gave him bickiepegs. Ever since, he has been so intrigued already by food so I made some homemade carrot purée for him and he loved it. Am I wrong for trying so early?

3 months is a bit too early, I have heard of of 4 months before but it should really be 6 months as advised by NHS

You shouldn’t start to wean until they have full head control (due to choking). Occasionally gp’s will give the go ahead for 4 months (usually due to severe reflux) but otherwise it shouldn’t be before 6 months and even then you want to start with green vegetables

It's totally fine to give them tastes of things but I wouldn't wean them until at least a year. They will still need the nutritional benefits of breastmilk.

I started at 3 month , what was done with me and I felt it was right x

We got the go ahead from our pediatrician to start some purées or cereal at 4 months
