Baby refusing purees but too young for lumpy or solids

She literally forces herself to puke, but chokes on textures, except melty sticks she definitely showing interest to our food but at 7 months I'm feeling the pressure to get meals down her and she's having none of it, what other finger foods can she just suck on for now

My little girls 6 months and I give her toast for breakfast, she absolutely LOVES it!! Xx

does she actually fully choke on solids or is it more like gagging? it’s very normal for gagging and ‘slight’ choking as it’s very different from milk x

You can do BLW from 6 months if they’re ready. My baby also hated purées and mashed food at the start so we gave her very soft steamed veg that would almost melt in her mouth (avocado, broccoli, carrot etc). She prefers self feeding to us feeding her aswell. just watch them closely, learn the difference between choking and gagging (which there will be lots of at the start) [it was helpful for me to watch videos of both on YouTube beforehand so I could recognise the difference], and put them in a Highchair with a footrest to help them stabilise themself

No such thing as too young for solids, you can start solids straight away as their first meal from 6 months. At 7 months it's just about exploring textures and developing grip/grasp, it's not a huge problem if they're not swallowing a lot of the food. You can use the solid starts app to tell you which foods to introduce and how to serve them in a developmentally appropriate way
