I had my sweep at 4 p.m. however, I had already started cramping that morning. I was in labour by 11pm. Can you have a bath to relax yourself?
I had 3 membrane sweeps after 39 weeks as I went to 42weeks and clearly it did nothing I had major cramps and back ache after for hours then it would wear off and I'd be back at square one again. I used a hot water bottle and kneeling in a hot bath with my head over the side, paracetamol was pointless.
@Holly I will try later. I’m not a laying in bath type of person. And also I kinda want to get the school stuff ready for my two eldest in case I go into labour over night or early hours tomorrow ( before school )
@Anita I did took two paracetamols the only difference I can feel is that it doesn’t hurt when I lay down only when I move 😂 so idk . This is the first time I’m getting a membrane sweep.
@Maria I had two older ones too so focusing on them is probably the best remedy. I wish you all the best ❤️

I didn't have any pain just slight cramps
my water broke the next day at 1 am good luck lol
I had one at 39+4. I had a little bit of mucus but everything else felt completely normal. Because the sweep didn’t do anything I was then induced 24 hrs later

@Maria that’s a long time to go!! Mind you they only offered a sweep because I was going to be induced anyway. I had a scan that day and they said I needed to be induced the next day then offered me the sweep to see if I could deliver naturally xx
@Elle oh I see. To be honest I don’t know why is my induction so far. That’s two weeks over my due date. Surely that’s not good for the baby.
I had 2 or 3. The only one that pained me was the one that finally induced labor on his due date! I spent all day managing pain- trying to walk, took a bath. I couldn’t lay down. But hopefully baby is coming! Good luck mama!
