How are your babies eating?

I’ve been up all night just overthinking about my baby boys appetite. My mom said I used to be small and picky even as an infant and maybe my son is the same way but still it makes me upset that he’s not gaining as much weight and also not really liking the food I’m giving him(just like mama a picky eater). What are you guys giving your baby’s for foods and if so what are a few meals that you prepare for them?

My baby just started really eating. Before the past 2ish weeks I swear she wasn’t actually eating her food just making a mess with it but she just kinda started eating recently and she really eats! So don’t worry it will happen!

They're not really supposed to be eating lots of food right now, they're still learning to eat. My girl is just getting small things here and there and some pouches of food. Finger foods I give her are tomato wedges, banana, orange slices, graham crackers coated in yogurt, potato wedges, pineapple core, oatmeal, French toast slices without syrup, biscuits, scrambled eggs, she's had some salmon too. Mainly anything we're eating i will just give her a little amount to try

I love what we’re doing and it’s working very well! At first I started with over cooked suggested baby foods (carrots, sweet potato, avocado) but he made a face and didn’t go nuts for it. Then I saw that babies can have spices and seasoning just not salt or sugar. SO, I now give him what we eat but with low/no salt. Same sweet potato but slightly seasoned, or chicken soup (chicken, carrot, celery, potato) and I add salt to my own bowl. He brings it to his mouth and eats some of it but I also feed him with my hand.. he’ll eat about 1-2oz of solids per meal and I’m excited! He gets boob 20min after a solid meal. He seemed picky until I gave him our food that we know tastes good.

My baby only eats, like, 10 bites max, when she does eat. She also eats veeerrrry slowly. She likes to sit there with food in her mouth and chew slow. All babies are different and it isn’t that big of a deal at this age. Just continue to offer food and encourage baby to try new things!

My son was not interested in food until he was around 15 months old. He eats everything now. My daughter on the other hand will eat anything and everything you out in front of her. At around 7 months she would cry if she wasn’t eating at the dining table with us haha. Every baby is different. Also if you’re worried about weight and growth I’d reach out to your pediatrician, but want to share my son gains weight very slowly. My daughter is 18 pounds and 9 months and he is 28 pounds and 2.5 years old. Still healthy and happy!
