A broke bitch

So we just went the weekend without power in the house, luckily we just so happened to have to house sit for our friends so it worked out while we got everything figured out. We have power now and are in our own home. Felt so good to sleep in my own bed. But we spent everything we had to get the power back on and I don’t even know what or how I’m going to make breakfast for my almost two year old. I breastfed him this morning (which I very rarely do anymore) just to try and get him full until lunch at least. I don’t think it worked because we keeps asking for an apple. I’m at a loss and don’t know how we’re going to eat the next couple days

Do they do the free fruit baskets where you're at? Like at Woolworths here, they have a basket of fruit for kids while they walk around shopping. Do they have those where you are?

Anyone you can borrow money from at all? Advance on pay?

Call a local church and they will give you a box of food, even if you don’t attend their parish.

Food banks?

Food pantry, ask local Facebook groups

Yes I was gonna suggest a food bank! Also pasta! It’s about 1-3 dollars per pack of pasta and same for sauce!! Easiest and cheapest!

Local libraries often have child snacks they put out, or join your local Facebook buy nothing group, there’s always people in mine who are giving away stuff including food! You just have to be quick to be the first person to comment or go pick it up. I would also try a local church or even YMCA, they’re often food bank distributors and I know my YMCA often has food for free people bring in
