It is really difficult bless you, my little boy is weaning at the minute and he’s now reacting to loads of different things :/ it’s so daunting and we’d only just got him settled on a milk that suits him x

@Saffron we're not at the weaning stage yet, but I'm dreading it. I don't even think my baby has CMPA tbh. She started on Althera because she was constipated and had a rash/eczema, we then switched to Pepti because she was going blotchy on her face when feeding. However, the blotching continued so the dietician suggested dairy free, so went onto Neocate. The problem is, the Neocate makes her be sick all the time! She literally has no other symptoms though on any of the milks, no mucus or blood in nappies, so rashes, no vomiting (apart from on the Neocate). So I think she goes red because of exertion and an increased heart rate during feeding, not because of an allergy. But I'll give the Neocate more time, but if she still goes red on it I'll then put her back on Pepti I think, as she was doing fine on that one x

That’s so strange! Have you tried to challenge it by trying her old formula to see how she reacts? This is how they confirmed my boys allergy. We were doing 3 scoops of the dairy free formula and one scoop of kendamil to make 4oz but he was reacting almost instantly. If she is just being sick a lot couldn’t it just be reflux? They could prescribe thickener for the milk to help her if it is that and see how she gets on. My baby absolutely refused neocate which put him in hospital but when he did have it he was sick a lot too because of how thin/ watery it is xx

Neocate is very very thin which can cause the reflux to worsen in children. However, it is also coconut oil based which children can react to. Have you been referred to a dietitian as they have sent us for allergy tests to see what is causing allergic reactions in my little girl as we’ve been weaning from 5.5 months and she’s been reacting to a lot of things as well as CMPA on top of that x

There’s gaviscon that can be used to help treat reflux as well as be used as a thickener. There’s also carobel but some children react to it might be worth a try especially if the symptoms have gone away with being on neocate x
